Six Star Football

Sports Recruits

ASDB Staff

Six Star Football writers explained in an article that Julian has been dominant .on the defensive side of the ball for Heathwood Hall. Hughes has taking his game to the next level, showing that he can disrupt offenses in the pass game and the run game. .

What we noticed is the effort Julian plays with to track runners and make a play on the football. He is reading plays well and reacting with purpose. That's what you want to see from a player like Hughes

My name is Julian Hughes, and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to play a sport in college at any level. What I believe separates me from other players are my work ethic, desire to get better, skills, and my knowledge both in the classroom and on the field. In every game I play I am not the biggest player by far, but I always play 100% and will not back down from anything.

Statement from Sports Recruit

After watching film, our coaches graded Hughes as a Division II athlete but could grab the attention of many of the FCS programs around the country. We love the hustles and his sure tackling ability.

We would love to see more of the ball skills and maybe some film in one on one coverage to show his athleticism.

We would also like to see more twitch and explosion.  If he improves in those areas, We believe that his stock will rise at the college football level.

Coach Rod's Thoughts

Julian explains how the recruiting process is going so far. "I have been on unofficial visits to University of North Carolina and Charlotte. Many of the FCS football programs that I have been in touch with likes my film and mentioned that they would start recruiting the 2026 class soon."

Lettered for his high school program after a successful season as the starting safety.

"Blessed to receive 2nd team all-area honors in the midlands (public and private schools)!!"

According to his X (formerly known as Twitter), Hughes received first team All-State Honors

I believe Julian has a next level work ethic. You can see he passion for the sport. He spends plenty of time working on his craft.

He will be a college football player as long as he doesn't have any life changing events that will prevent him from accomplishing his dream.
